  • Frank T. Crowe Memorial Park - 1 acre, picnic tables and barbeque grills. Annual Christmas Tree lighting. Nevada Highway, Birch and Cherry Streets.
  • North and South Escalante Plazas - Each plaza is about one-half acre, landscaped, shady with park benches. Uptown area.
  • Lakeview Park - 3/4 acre, playground equipment, basketball court, picnic tables, barbeque grills. Walker Way and Pyramid Lane.
  • Reflections Center - Landscaped area with park benches and 7 sculptures. Colorado and Railroad Streets.
  • River Mountain Hiking Trail - 5 ½ mile trail originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps over 55 years ago, renovated by the City of Boulder City, National Park Service, and UNLV Geology Department. Look for Trailhead sign between the Lakeview Subdivision and Highway 93.

  • Hoover Dam
    Built to control the ravages of the mighty Colorado River and eventually helping many families through the Depression in the 1930's, Hoover Dam is still an amazing feat of engineering and man's ability to endure. 7 miles east of Boulder City, the Dam is one of our country's seven modern engineering wonders. The new Visitor Center includes audiovisual presentations and interactive multi-media exhibits. The views of Lake Mead and Black Canyon are awe-inspiring.

  • Boulder Dam Hotel

    This stately hotel has housed the likes of presidents and movie stars. Having passed through the hands of several owners over the decades, and fallen into a state of disrepair, the residents of Boulder City decided to do something. They formed the Boulder Dam Hotel Association and bought the hotel. It is in the process of being refurbished and boasts a restaurant, shops, and the capacity to host a variety of functions. Events such as the Birdhouse Auction are fun fund raisers providing capital for hotel improvements.

  • Gaming Boulder City has the distinction of being the only community in Nevada where gaming is not legal. In even the smallest towns one will find slot machines but not in Boulder City. At either end of town, outside of the city limits are casinos and hotels. Railroad Pass Hotel and Casino is nestled in a mountain pass right before the Las Vegas Valley. Gold Strike Hotel and Casino is on the edge of Lake Mead Recreation Area just as you enter the canyon that leads to Boulder Dam. Both places are friendly, reasonable and serve a variety of cuisine.

    Las Vegas is 23 miles away with all of the full-featured gaming anyone would want. World famous hotels, casinos, shows and amusement parks abound.

  • Golf The Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department operates and maintains an eighteen-hole, par 72, Municipal Golf Course. The course includes a driving range, practice chipping green and a clubhouse The 3000 square foot clubhouse boasts a pro shop, bar and snackbar which serves breakfast and lunch daily. Reservations for the clubhouse or tee time are available.

  • Mountains The Spring Mountain Range is a forested area not far from the glitter of Las Vegas. An easy drive for the family, Mt Charleston has snow sports in the winter (Lee Canyon Ski Area), a lodge and hotel, camping and picnicking facilities, hiking trails and more. Off State Highway 95 north of Las Vegas. Roads are good and scenery is magnificent.

  • Water Lake Mead is surrounded by an impressive 550 miles of shoreline. Boating is a treat 12 months a year with many coves and inlets to discover. There are several boat docking areas with the closest to Boulder City at Hemingway Harbor. A tree-filled campground with full facilities is a short walk away from the wide beach. Popular water sports include swimming, boating, skiing, sail boarding, skidooing, canooing and kayaking. There are boat tours and guided canoe excursions to the dam and beyond (putting in below the dam) as well as boat rentals. 5 miles north-east of Boulder City inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
